NUJ Election Cyber-Terrorism - Internet Denial of Service Attacks (DoS)
Denial-of-service attacks adversely affect all journalists as seen from the debacle in Estonia which set a dangerous precedent. Similar behavior now takes place globally, particularly in Russia, China and the United States. A cyberwar weapon, these attacks involve assault on electronic communication networks in retaliation for publishing unpopular opinion. [The New York Times - Estonia]
Jeremy Dear, NUJ General Secretary and Roy Martin Mincoff, NUJ in-house solicitor, while feigning solidarity, colluded in a cover up of HM Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) dereliction by negotiating a £262,000.00 quid pro quo in a distinct conflict of interest with Gareth R Thomas MP (Harrow West), Minister of State, Department for International Development (the Journalist’s MP) and Jack Straw MP, now Secretary of State for Justice and Lord Chancellor.

Dear and Mincoff aided and abetted Ronald A Johnson (an Internet terrorist) by deliberately not providing promised NUJ assistance to obtain a court restraining order against University of Washington that employs Johnson. Informed of the attacks on a daily basis, John Toner, National Freelance Organiser allowed the vandalism to continue by not taking action.
During 2008, systems and equipment repair exceeded £0.5 million which did not include inestimable collateral publishing damage. Metropolitan Police investigated the attacks used for electronic prior restraint and FBI received frequent reports.

New (DoS) Attacks
A new series of Internet denial-of-service (DoS) attacks occurred (24-30 Oct 09) since publication of an article by Dominic Ponsford, Editor, Press Gazette commented on election content disseminated by Mark Watts, a candidate for editor of Journalist magazine. Ponsford generated heated argument by NUJ officials, officers, and members. Some of those comments linked to NUJ Club JournoScam web site.
Hackers, connected with NUJ officials, caused damage to computers which cost £5,500.00 to repair (24 Oct 09). That figure does not include publishing losses which continue to accrue. The hacker also committed web vandalism at 24-hour intervals (24-30 Oct 09) which cost £1,000.00 each time to repair. Total damage exceeded £10,500.00 (30 Oct 09).
Within twelve hours of publication of three pages and directory data dealing with NUJ elections to a limited list, the hacker ratcheted up harassment and coercion
The hacker downloaded bots which totally disabled the system at the local level by preventing any access to the web site, bank accounts, and email. Bots (malware) infect vulnerable computers and wait for commands from the hacker who controls them and the infected systems remotely. Most computer users have familiarity with viruses, worms, Trojan horses, and network intrusions on a regular basis and know how to protect themselves; however, virtually no protection exists against bot software written by experts.
Perhaps more important, the absence of this site removes the means for NUJ members to discourse preceding an election (16 Nov 09): obviously the intent of the NUJ officials mentioned in the three articles subjected to vandalism. Arguably, the vandalism construes as election fraud and certainly as multiple violations of international Internet laws. Sources determined that NUJ officials negotiated with a hacker to effect this electronic prior restraint. Upon publication of this article

An increasing number of high-level officials in government and public institutions condone these illegal attacks upon freedom of expression. They give implied permission or impunity which allows the lowest level of Machiavellian behavior and disingenuousness conveniently propagandized as "political science" and "risk management". Properly called political expedience and coercion strategies, impunity allows cyber censors to violate journalism and human rights protected by international laws. [Impunity]
Dear has done nothing to stop the abuse within NUJ which effectively grants impunity to the hacker. Instead of responding to words with more words, NUJ officials try to destroy the medium to counter exposure of their malfeasance. Unable to use rational discourse, they use power and member funds to suppress publication by vandalizing computer systems and destroying intellectual property. They ignore the premise that no one may take the law into their own hands and the admonition by another journalist almost two centuries ago:
Where justice is denied, where poverty is enforced, where ignorance prevails, and where any one class is made to feel that society is in an organized conspiracy to oppress, rob, and degrade them, neither persons nor property will be safe.
Dear, widely known as a pathological liar, has not responded to requests for action despite repeated requests to stop harassment of members by officers and officials. He lies incessantly to get his own way and has little concern for others. Often viewed as a coping mechanism developed in early childhood, this sociopathic dysfunction usually manifests in men over forty years of age. It includes displacement, a defense mechanism that transfers affect or reaction from oneself to another person and other types of mental health disorders.
Sociopaths function by goal-oriented manipulation, cunning, and self-aggrandizement. They have little regard or respect for the law or the rights and feelings of others. The vandalizing of web sites, which violates international law, clearly reveals an antisocial personality disorder. [Sociopath]
Recent Web Site Vandalism
An NUJ hacker has ratcheted up coercion to cease publication by deleting specific pages and reference data from NUJ Club JournoScam that deals with the election of the Journalist editor. That vandalism necessitated reprogramming. The hacker now repeats the web vandalism at 24-hour intervals which cost £1,000.00 each time to repair.
Six Internet denial-of-service (DoS) attacks occurred (24-30 Oct 09) since publication of an article by Dominic Ponsford, Editor, Press Gazette commenting on election content disseminated by Mark Watts. Ponsford generated heated argument by NUJ officials, officers, and members. Some of those comments linked to NUJ Club JournoScam web site. [Press Gazette] [Election Fraud] [Election Comments]
The hacker targeted articles associated with election of a new editor for Journalist magazine and commentary relating to dereliction by the present editor Timothy R Gopsill. The hacker used a self-propagating virus to access the local database as a spam email attachment at about the time that he accessed the web site to vandalize the same data (23 Oct 09).
Once active on the local computer, the virus installed twenty-one compressed malware files which opened back doors to allow unauthorized users remote access to the compromised computer. Separate protective applications recorded the intrusion. Viruses, purposeful self-replicating programs that infect computer code, documents, or applications, destroy both applications and databases.
The attacks occurred in discrete areas of Internet software yet targeted identical information. That showed a pattern of deliberate intent to vandalize, destroy, or limit access to specific remote election information on NUJ Club JournoScam web site also corresponding data at the local level: reminiscent of the vandalism which occurred in 2008.
During the 2008 incidents, Jeremy Dear and Roy M Mincoff aided and abetted Ronald A Johnson (an Internet terrorist). They deliberately neglected to provide promised NUJ assistance to obtain a crown court restraining order against Internet denial-of-service attacks. John Toner, National Freelance Organiser (informed of the attacks on a daily basis) did not insist that NUJ take action; instead, he (in a consort with Dear and Mincoff) allowed the vandalism to continue.
Known saboteurs caused catastrophic damage to computer systems and databases. In addition to application sabotage, which necessitated purchase of replacement programs, they blacked out notebook screens by destroying inverters which involved buying and installing stand-alone devices and new laptop computers. It cost an additional £15,000.00 per computer to replace destroyed applications and databases.
Systems and equipment repair exceeded £500,000.00 which did not include inestimable collateral publishing damage. Metropolitan Police investigated the attacks used for electronic prior restraint and FBI received frequent reports. They have received reports of the new attacks.
Other law enforcement agencies informed include local, national, and international police empowered to enforce laws and rules of government, trade unions, or political bodies. They have power to effect public and social order through the enforcement of laws resulting from abrogation of administrative rules at trade union level and international crimes like cyber-terrorism.

Previous Attacks
Judge James A Doerty arbitrarily censored several web sites, held the author in contempt of court and fined him $100.00/day, then sent him to jail and solitary confinement all without due process of law. National Union of Journalists officers, fully aware of the proceedings, did virtually nothing to support their member. Instead, Timothy R Gopsill, Editor Journalist magazine imposed a nine year media blackout on the Internet magazine which has left the member vulnerable to international abuse ever since proved by the current vandalism.

In 2009, HM Foreign and Commonwealth Office (and by association National Union of Journalists officers and officials) considered themselves above the law by not following international mandates. By their dereliction, they supported cyber-terrorism, a modern type of prior restraint, to achieve illegal objectives despite an internationally acclaimed Washington Supreme Court finding (30 Mar 06) by nine judges that unanimously reversed an electronic prior restraint upon the same content. Investigations by four Law Enforcement Agencies (LEA) (with two more pending) involve violations of Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992 (the Act) and other criminal complaints. Those investigations cover cyber-terrorism using Internet denial-of-service attacks and illegal computer vandalism by University of Washington (UW) which could involve extradition of the culprit. Illegal prior restraint by Gopsill, Editor, Journalist magazine; and obstruction of justice by Jeremy Dear, NUJ General Secretary, in a consort with NUJ lawyers and officers, condoned the crimes which arguably makes them accessories after the fact.
Dear and Mincoff allowed vandals to prevent publication (with contingent income and publishing losses) of articles describing the vandalism by continuing the media blackout without any attempt to mitigate damage and by stonewalling requests to take action to prevent Internet denial-of-service attacks. They neglected to obtain a Crown Court order to prohibit violations of international Internet law in the same way that Dear and Claire S Kirby neglected to obtain orders under Vienna Convention nine years earlier which let to jailing of an NUJ member.
During the first seven years of his watch as general secretary, Dear received approximately £400,000.00 in salary. His laissez faire policies continue to cause income and publication losses which accrue at £1,000.00/per diem. NUJ paid Dear a salary and benefits of £73,990.00 for the fiscal year ended 30 September 08, funded from member dues. During that year, his dereliction bankrupted the author by costing £500,000.00 actual damage, reduced web assets by several £-million, and caused inestimable collateral losses through blocked newsletter circulation and vandalized mailing applications.
Consistently informed with documented evidence, Dear and Mincoff neglected to act which resulted in loss of income and reputation as a journalist. That neglect caused £-millions of equipment, income, and publication losses which continue to accrue. They supported Johnson who retaliated for publishing unpopular opinion about abuse of elderly people using the same modus operandi and criteria that they used to jail the author.
Instead of the prior restraint denied to them by the Washington supreme court decision they now use cyber-terrorism to prevent publication. Using computer software and Internet access as cyber-weapons, University of Washington information technology experts (having complicity with Seattle mafia which includes former HM Consul Broom) continue to destroy communication networks.
International Cyber-Terrorism
An article (06 May 08) by Martin Sieff, defense industry editor for United Press International (UPI), highlights the unwillingness of US media to report denial-of-service attacks which has spread to the Journalist and NUJ web sites. One of America's largest broadcasting networks was knocked out for two days (26 Apr 08) by a Distributed Denial-of-Service (DoS) cyber-attack (the same day that University of Washington launched another DoS attack on Contra Cabal); however, the largest US newspapers and TV news channels did not report it.
[The Silence of the Media Lambs]
Jeffrey Gedmin, President, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) said: "The character of the attack shows that the Belarusian authorities continue to block information on the Internet". He compared it to the Soviet Union and its satellite nations trying to jam US backed broadcasts during the Cold War yet US media kept the information under wraps. Similarly, UW and NUJ have buried information about the twelve-year history of DoS attacks by Johnson. It seems that UW continues to lead the way and NUJ follows but not in the sense propagandized by UW super flak Phyllis M Wise. UW Vice President and Provost and Jeremy Dear, NUJ Jeremy General Secretary.

Trade Union and Labour Relations - David Cockburn David Cockburn, Certification Officer, Certification Office for Trade Unions and Employers' Associations delayed investigation and adjudication of a complaint for five months. By that, Cockburn effectively granted Jeremy Dear, General Secretary, National Union of Journalists impunity to extend a seven-year pattern of illegal activity for another year. Dear perverted the course of justice by misusing his position for personal gain and colluded in manipulation of elections to maintain an illegal status quo. Dear also covered up misappropriation of public funds by denying access to financial and other records. Cockburn effectively supported the illegal activities by delaying and denying justice. Their respective actions show an illegal pattern or practice which has adversely affected trade union member
